Choosing the Best Educational Toys

Educational toys enable children to learn as they play. Educational toys help a child acquire new skills and improve their current ones all the while having fun. Educational toys are great at this – in encouraging learning in a fun environment. Educational toys are not only fun but practical. Of course, there are important factors that a parent needs to consider in getting the best educational toys for their children:

1. Consider the child’s age when choosing educational toys. There are educational toys in the market available for all age groups. Check the labels of toys for age appropriateness. Electronic toys, breakable toys, and those with minute parts are definitely not for infants. Consider safety fore mostly. The best for smaller kids are ones that activate the senses and are good for motor skills – toys producing, sounds, turning buttons, push and pull, filling and emptying, bobbing bath toys, squishy toys, clay or shapes. A one year old would probably only throw number or letter blocks without recognizing the idea of numbers. So not too complicated; neither should you underestimate a preschooler with toys meant only for younger kids. Maybe you should challenge them with more books (picture books and pop-ups are so much fun) or chalk boards, flash cards, toy clocks and globes, and puzzles.

2. Also consider a child’s interest. A child could be interested more in sports than in music or art for example. Observe if he likes to bang things more than scribble. Try to get an idea of your child’s “field” before buying educational toys.

3. Let your child’s imagination work. Children’s play is often centered on their little worlds, and getting their minds working creatively greatly stimulates and develops their minds. The more the toy encourages creative thinking and make-believe, the better. Toys that are good at this are building blocks, arts and crafts, coloring books, stuffed animals, doll set, action figures, cars, and science and discovery toys like binoculars, archeology tools, veterinarian kits, habitats, and the likes.

4. Watch-and-learn toys are magnificent. Toys that are imitative of adults’ activities always get a child’s attention. The average cooking play set goes a long way in a child’s learning. So does sports toys like ping pong play or dad’s favorite shooting hoops basketball and profession toys like doctor’s kit.

5. Educational toys should be fun. The best way for a child to learn is probably by having fun. Whatever that interests your child stimulates his brain to get ready for learning. Educational toys serve this purpose. It is important for educational toys to be entertaining to foster brain activity stimulation. It has been scientifically proven that this brain stimulation through activating interest in a child help develop thought and reflex patterns and a good hand-eye coordination. Plus, fun is an important factor in choosing an educational toy since the child won’t even notice that lessons are being taught while he is playing. And lastly, fun is great way to get a child’s attention and focus in the first place. Thus, educational toys should be fun in the best way they could be.

Exposure to educational toys in the early formative years of learning, during times of perception with awe and surprise, when a child’s brain acts like a quick sponge absorbing great new experiences playing a huge part in a child’s capacity for learning in the later stages of his life. It is then responsibility of every parent to provide educational toys for their child to get them a head start in early development helping them explore the world around them. Grab some of these tips and watch your child maximize his abilities.

How to Start a Home Base Business?

Millions of people, all over the country, dream of starting their own business from home, but this process is a long and trying one, and there is no guarantee that it will work out at the end of the day. So, where to begin learning about how to start a home base business? You begin by determining what kind of skills you have that would enable you to make profits from them. Do you have special qualifications such as accounting certifications, or do you simply want to sell products online? Do you want to become a freelance writer, or would you like to make a living visiting patients as a physiotherapist? Once you have determined what it is you are going to do, you can then move on to the finer points of starting a home based business.

Researching your New Business

Before you can quit your job and begin working from home, you will need to make sure that you know exactly what type of business you will be running and what you will need to do to run it properly. You can start out with the location of the business; is it a viable option to run the business from home? Do you have enough space to set up an office and will you need to accommodate clients in your home office? If there is not enough space within your home, you might want to consider hiring a separate office that will meet all of your business-related needs.

The next factor that you will need to consider is what you are going to be selling. Selling services, instead of products, means that you will not need storage space, and you might not need to invest a lot of capital into the startup.

Saving the Capital to start your own Business

Starting your own business from home can be a very exciting prospect, but you should not convince yourself that you will be making tons of money within the first few days; in fact, it might take up to six months to be able to support yourself on the profits of a new business, and you will need to make sure that you have enough capital to get through the leaner months. During the first six months, you will not only need to have enough capital to pay your personal bills; you will also need enough capital to run your business during this time, and this will take some planning.

Advertising and Expanding your Business

It is important not to get over excited once your business starts bringing in profits, especially when you begin thinking about advertising and expanding your business. Many startup businesses fail because they spend too much, too quickly on expanding and advertising their business. Although these are integral aspects to consider, especially if you want to grow your business and increase your profits, but you need to make sure that you take a sufficient amount of time to determine whether it is the right time to widen the marketing budget and expand only when your company is ready to take on the extra expense of this process.

Learning how to start a home base business is not difficult; you simply need to be prepared for the task ahead, and this comes with a lot of research, sufficient capital and the dedication to work long and hard to make your dreams come true.

Home Based Business – Anyone Can Be Successful

You can be successful in your home-based business. It doesn’t matter who you are or how much money you have to invest. You can succeed. You do not need to be a computer genius or marketing expert either.I’ve been an outdoor type all my life and Bass fishing is my favorite sport. I didn’t know much about fishing when I started but was willing to listen, learn and try new ideas and tactics. I learned a little through trial and error and didn’t make much progress until I started to listen too and read what the professionals could teach me. I learned quite a bit in a short time. I learned that to catch the biggest and most fish you need a boat, if you can afford one. If not, you can go with someone else or fish from the bank. No matter where you fish from you need your fishing tackle: rods, reels, line, a variety of lures, knowledge of the water (where the fish hang out, etc.), patience, persistence and endurance. Ok, you ask, what does that have to do with an internet home-based business?I have tried many types of home-based businesses, MLMs, internet, etc. I have discovered that you must have tools and a system that works. Of course, to run a successful internet home-based business you need a computer. You obviously have on or you wouldn’t be reading this. So what else do you need? You need a system that works. You should have a good website with an attractive landing page and autoresponder. You need access to other social websites like Google, Twitter, Facebook, You Tube, etc. All of these things are good tools. Do you know how to design a website? If you do, that’s great, but if you don’t what do you do? As far as social websites are concerned, there are hundreds, if not thousands of them out there. How can we put these websites to their best use? Most of us know very little about any of these things and it takes a long time to become familiar with how they all work together. My question was: “What do I do now?”.At this point it was time to do just what I did to become more proficient at my Bass fishing. I turned to the professionals. I looked around on the internet and consulted some of my friends and finally discovered the professional internet marketing group that I now use. I am able to get the training and help I need. And I own my own business and have great products to market. I’m not yet where I want to be but I am making tremendous progress and enjoying every minute of my experience at the same time.I could go on and on but I won’t. The long and short of any home based business is the proper system and someone who has been around the block a few times to help you (the Professionals). You want someone advising and training you that has been very, very successful and knows what they are doing. You want someone who has made all of the mistakes and can keep you from doing the same thing. Take a look at my internet marketing tackle box. Catapult yourself to the top in your internet, home-based business.

Christian-Home Based Business: The Deal

How would you like to run a business that is anchored on your religious beliefs? Some people are quite hesitant to start a business that is reflective of their religious practices and beliefs. This might be because they feel uncomfortable getting to earn money from what is supposedly a spiritual facet of their life. Others are hesitant because there might not be a lot of people who would patronize the products or avail of the services that your business would offer. However, there are currently a lot of businesses that run on their beliefs. They do not aim to desensitize the issue of religion. In fact, some of these businesses are started and are being run by actual practicing members of their religion. Their aim is to help co-members to practice their religion in a better way and to enhance the people’s desire to act on their faith. If you are a Christian, you can very well do the same, even from the comforts of your home. But if you do decide to start and run your own Christian home-based business, then you have to always remember to follow some of the recommended ways in running it to help you achieve success in your venture. Here are some of those:1. Offer products and services that focus on enhancing people’s faith and belief. There are Christian home-based businesses that offer supplementary posts and articles that will help people do their devotions with utmost sincerity over and love for their faith. You can put up a blog about devotions, Bible phrases, and stories about faith. Also, you can set a website that sells Christian records and other products relevant to the practice of the religion. Running a Christian home-based business would be more successful if you do this because people would be able to relate well with your products and services. Although, you have to keep in mind that what you are running is a supplementary business and not an entire religion in itself. Therefore, you should not try to make people or impose on them to base their beliefs on what you sell them. Allow them to explore their faith with only the help of your products.2. Be Christian in your business philosophies. How do you make your business philosophies become more Christian? There is never a right and exact answer. But being Christian speaks of all good things. This means that in running a Christian home-based business, you have to ensure that you are doing your best to deliver to your clients just exactly what they need. Be fair and honest in all your transactions not just so your customers will keep coming back but also because it is simply the right thing to do. Also, be accommodating in dealing with other people whether they are suppliers or clients or affiliates. Never forget that you are not running an ordinary business. You are running a Christian home-based business, so the expectations of you are really high. Love your business and all the good things it can do-and watch this love translate to a successful venture.3. Strategize the marketing campaign of your brand. Definitely, home-based businesses have to be marketed well so they can generate more clients and eventually become more successful. With a Christian home-based business, you have to strategize well because your audience is rather more specified. The ones you will be tapping are people who practice the Christian religion. But aside from marketing your product to them, you should also make them feel good enough to recommend your business to other Christians. Marketing your products and services should also be within a defined set of rules set by business leagues.A Christian home-based business should not be that difficult because it is practically like any other type of business. The only difference is that with this kind of business, entrepreneurs will be asked to reserve more judgment in terms of making decisions regarding the clients and their purchases. Make decisions that would be beneficial not only for your business but also for the entire brand or company. This would help the clients know that the company is doing its best to uphold the teachings of the Church.

Windows Small Business Server 2008

In big business it isn’t entirely difficult to create a computer atmosphere that is robust, serves its users well, and is not broken down more often than not. The trick is to hire the right people to build and maintain the network and deal with IT projects as they come up. OK, maybe it’s not quite THAT simple but it doesn’t need to be a nightmare, provided the right resources are in place. In the small business world, things often become entirely different. Many small businesses simply don’t have the resources to build – let alone maintain – a network that will adequately take care of business needs. Many small businesses wind up with a mismatch of different parts put together piece by piece by whichever technician was available at any given time and was offering the right price. Nobody’s really sure how the pieces fit together and why this was done or that was configured differently. Just finding a password for a router can be a gargantuan challenge in its own right.I doubt I’ve ever met a small business owner who wouldn’t do whatever it would take to make their network stable and more importantly, useful and to manageable, were the resources to do so in place. From a software vendor’s point of view, it’s great to charge lots for your product and have a niche base of large businesses who can afford it. We all know that small business is in many ways driving the economy. Is it really wise to target only those large businesses and leave a wealth of opportunity on the table?Sure, there are plenty of free and open source products out there that can take the edge off of ferocious software prices, and in fact I’ve bestowed their virtues here oh so many times. I am indeed a firm believer in the value of open source in business. My view of those benefits begin to fall apart however when we consider running an entire business on open source software when resources are limited.Open source products are typically more difficult to manage than their commercial counterparts and support can at times be hard to find. Even the best technician needs technical support from time to time and when it’s not available – especially when a critical system is down- things can get hairy. To me, it makes more sense for a small business to run critical servers etc. on mainstream software and leave open and source to the likes of non-critical desktop computers, web servers, and even some email servers. A small business can survive a day or two without email but is dead in the water without point of sale or accounting software.Windows servers can form the foundation of a Windows network and let’s face it; Windows is the most dominant operating system out there. Windows servers can also serve Mac, Linux, and UNIX computers as well, so all told they’re not a bad choice for a network foundation. The problem is, they are usually not all that inexpensive.Microsoft saw an opportunity to address the needs of small businesses, provide some higher end products that would help drive those businesses, and of course increase their own ‘[revenues. Small Business Server is a bundle of a number of products and is priced a great deal below what one would pay for the individual packages if they were bought separately. Small Business Server was first released in 1997and frankly the first couple of versions were – well, let’s just say “not so great”.It really wasn’t until Small Business Server 2003, released in (you guessed it!) 2003 that Small Business Server came into its own right. Small Business Server 2003 includes the standard Windows Server plus Microsoft Exchange Server, Windows SharePoint Server, and a plethora of “wizards” that make managing the server relatively easy for a small business owner. The Premium edition also includes Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft ISA Server It doesn’t much matter at this point what these things are except that they are excellent business tools.Taken together, these products provide a solid foundation for a network that includes shared calendar, contacts, and tasks. Also included is a team web site (also known as an Intranet) and with the Premium edition, a database server and a network firewall. If you consider the standard edition weighed against the individual software packages for 5 users, Small Business Server 2003 comes in at about $575 while the individual packages are priced at about $2100. That becomes roughly $1150 compared to about $2700 when you license 10 users. The savings go and on as users are added. So, what’s the catch? Small Business Server 2003 can handle a maximum of 75 users, domain trust relationships are not available, and only the Small Business Server 2003 can be a domain controller. It doesn’t matter a hoot what those things mean except that very few small businesses would ever know the difference.Microsoft is due to release Business Server 2008 in November 2008. If you own a small business and are in the market for a new server, Small Business Server 2008 will be one of those products you’d be remiss to overlook. If you need a server today you can buy the 2003 version with software assurance and get the upgrade for free. Just beware though, Small Business Server 2008 will be 64 bit only so be careful to buy the right hardware!

Passion – A Key to Your MLM Home Based Business Success

As a veteran network marketer and business owner who has walked the trail of tears, I am weary of the lies and deceit that pervades the industry.

Too many people join a MLM home based business based on the promise of wealth and fortune alone. They enroll with the simple idea that all they have to do is “sign up three who will get three who get three”. The concept sounds so simple that they jump right in, and after a short period of time, quit because “the system” didn’t work for them.

While MLM home based businesses have various compensation plans, the traditional MLM model of “three who get three who get three” is an example I am using here. It is a simple business model that looks easy to do. Simply, it is a business template that a company implements to help the company’s representatives market the company’s products and grow their business. The process of building a MLM home based business requires much more effort and desire to succeed than is seen on the surface.

While it’s true that there is potential to make a lot of money in this industry, it is also true that it takes time and effort to envision the opportunity as an ongoing journey. When people join a MLM home based business solely because of the promise of wealth and fortune, it doesn’t take long before they are checking out and are never heard from again. The reason? Greed is not a long-term motivator. Most want to get rich quick and when that doesn’t happen, they quit.

A Key to Success

In my opinion, a key to succeeding in this industry is having a strong belief and passion for the company and its products or services.

It’s interesting that many sales training books don’t elaborate on the need for belief and passion to succeed in business. I believe all of the attributes of a great sales person are backed by a passion of some type. In our case, passion is an intense, extreme, or overpowering feeling for a cause represented by the company’s products or services.

The authors of sales books talk about having the right mental attitude – that is, desiring, to succeed, setting goals and achieving them, and becoming a great leader. How do you find the drive to enact these without a passion for the MLM home based business – and its products – you have chosen to build? For example, how can you have a positive mental attitude about your business without having a belief and passion for it?

Too many people are brought into a MLM home based business because of the promise of an easy business to do and a ton of money to be made in a short period of time. Oh, the products and services are presented, but the major push is on the big money that can be made.

The challenges we all face

When beginning a MLM home based business, so many challenges lie ahead. Here are just a few that a new owner may confront:
· Complacency – many new business owners never get started. They are afraid they don’t know enough or don’t know where or how to start
· Anxiety and fear about sharing the business or the products and services to people, including friends and family – becoming a secret agent of the business. What will they think about me?
· Fear of rejection – a “no” for some people is a nail to the heart. They would rather sleep on nails than be told “no”.
· Fear of failing – nobody likes to lose. A few “no’s”, and the very thing that’s feared actually becomes reality.
· Negative self-talk – that inner voice saying, “I told you this wouldn’t work. What were you thinking, joining this business anyway?”
· Lack of strong leadership – another reason many people fail in a home-based business. No leadership and guidance means trying to do something that has never done before and doing it right the first time. That isn’t likely to happen.
· Giving up – it doesn’t take long for the new business partner to say, “Maybe this business isn’t for me. It just didn’t work out.”

When a person starts a MLM home based business for the wrong reasons — primarily greed, wealth and fortune, and the desire to get rich quickly — then all of the aforementioned factors will have an adverse affect.

When enrolling because of belief in the company, the MLM home business owner often has very positive experiences with the products and services offered and becomes a passionate evangelist for those products and the company. Add to that a strong leadership team that keeps the business owner plugged into the latest news and product information; teaches solid skills training; and consistently gives positive feedback and encouragement, a strong belief and passion slowly will begin to develop. This will go a long way in enabling endurance for the many challenges that lie ahead.

Passion will make a difference

Look at what can happen when belief and passion for the products and services are the key reasons for signing up for the MLM home based business opportunity:

· Because belief and passion are so high with the products and services, the business owner is compelled to share them with friends and family; thus, no longer operating like a secret agent.
· When belief and passion are the driving forces within the business owner, complacency no longer exists. Likewise, issues that once were barriers to getting started are now banished.
· Knowing that the fundamental purpose in any business is to “show and tell” the company’s products and services, the business owner understands that everyone does not have the same feelings about what is offered; everyone is not the niche prospect. He markets accordingly, letting the prospect be the one to decide if the products and services are right for him, and knowing that a “no” to the offer is not a personal rejection.
· Understanding that the mission of sharing the business and the difference it can make in the life of another person, the business owner discovers that the fear of failure and negative self-talk disappear when leading with passion.
· No matter how slow the start, the business owner understands that quitting is not an option, that owning a business is a long-term mission and there’s no challenge too big to conquer.

In all of the years I have been involved in MLM home based businesses, I have yet to see anyone climb to the top of the mountain and stay there for the long-term without a belief and passion. Oh, yes, I have seen people — through the passion of getting rich quickly — climb to the top, but it is built upon greed and not upon sound principles. Their business is built like a house of cards and in a short period of time, many fall apart.

It is imperative that anyone desiring to build a MLM home based business for the long run must have a passion for the company and its products and services. That passion will attract others who also want to be a part of the marketing campaign. They, too, will embrace the owner’s passion, and this will drive them to success, too.

Check out the top leaders who have been with a company for many years. Their passion for what they do will be evident. It is rare to find anyone at the top for any length of time just because they saw the money.

So, it is necessary that a potential home business owner — before signing up with any MLM home based business — must research the company to make sure it is all that is written about it. It is essential to use the products and services for a period of time to make sure that there is a positive experience with them. Check out the leadership and make sure they have the experience and a system that will insure success. And, finally, a potential MLM home business owner must ask himself if this is a business that he can believe in and could eventually have a passion to build.

It’s only when the answer is “yes” to these questions that signing up and becoming involved with any MLM home based business opportunity should even be considered.

Too many people get into this industry for the wrong reasons and that is why they fail. Joining for the right reasons will make a huge difference in succeeding or failing. Passion is a key reason for successful growth in any business – either a present one or a future one.

How To Advertise Your Home Business The Smart Way

When you start a new home business, it seems like you are the only one out there that is lost inside millions of other home business owners. You seem to not know what to do to get out of that pile so you can be seen. Well, many people advertise their home business to get out of that pile. In that pile without advertising, there is one percent chance to be seen. Some people like to advertise now and some like to advertise later due to budget problems. But advertising do take time and money.

Advertising may cost a lot. It depends where you advertise your business. Some is expensive and some options are cheap. Even though you have the money to advertise, you have to do some research before you do so. Do not advertise anywhere and spend a lot of money, you might not get the result you want. Learn these information I am about to give you, you will learn how to advertise with or without a budget.

The first way to advertise is with the newspaper. When you advertise in the newspaper, remember to find newspapers with the amount of twenty thousand plus circulations and what kind of people lives in that city. Do not aim for the highest circulations that there is because the higher the circulations the higher the expense. Aim for the mid circulation newspapers and you will find cheep ads placements. Aim for many different states, different states have different prices. Call up to a few newspapers companies and ask them for the price to place ads for the amount of lines you need and which section of the newspaper you want your advertisement in.

Most of the time you’ll use a 3 line ad, some may limit you to how many words per line or all three lines totaled up. If you go over, you will be charged more. If the newspaper staff is pretty helpful, ask them for their main line so you can get back to them right away. If the staff wants to control you and gives you a hard time, call up again and find a new staff to work with you. If it is the same old staff on the phone, no need to work with that company.

When you find out all the prices of the newspaper company that you are aiming for, you call them back and place the advertisement. Place the ads for about three weeks straight if it is cheap or once a week for three weeks. Here are the days that are best to place ads, Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday. Those days’ works for me but you can choose your own days.

You want some way to keep track of the newspapers to see which one is rolling in customers and which one is not. If you have a website, get a few different URLS, one for each different newspaper. Now you can see which newspaper is helping you and which is not. For the not one, pick out another newspaper company and discard the old one. It takes time to find one that works perfect for you. Give it a little time and you will be successful in newspaper advertising for your home business.

The second way to advertise is with business cards. Why business cards? They are easy to carry and pick up. When you make a business card, you will fill it up with your home business information on the front of the card. Remember to make a unique title that attracts people. Now on the back of the card, if you have any important information that you think is valuable, put it there. Other people that receive your card might think the information is also useful. They will be referring back to the card and that means they will see your information each and every time. Your message will get to them sooner or later as long as they still have that card.

The third way of advertising is flyers. Flyers are cheap and effective. On the flyer, put a unique title and information that will attract your prospects. Next, remember to put your website and your business or eight hundreds number on that flyer. The best way to put flyers is on cars or put them in mail boxes. I love using white papers and black words. Be sure not to put your advertisement on papers or ink that is hard to read. Many people do not want something hard to read. Make your flyer easy to read for people. This will help you convert more prospects.

Remember that there is one percent of the people you pass flyers to will not like what you gave them. They might call you and leave you a nasty message or send a nasty email. If you get those, just delete them. Do not deal with them or try to call them back. Just let it be and ignore them. By doing this you will be successful in your business, do not let negativity get to you.

Fourth way of advertising is pay per click. Pay per click is expensive depending on what keyword you want to advertise in. The best way to learn pay per click is to buy an e-book. You do not want to go through learning it yourself. Someone has already been through that road. Let that person show you the way of success in pay per click advertising. Time is money! Learn it the easy way to save you time and money. If you want to learn it yourself, it is expensive. It is more expensive than buying that e-book.

The last way of advertising is free advertising. Where? Free advertising is everywhere on the Internet. There are many websites out there that let you put your ads on their sites. Like forums, some classified websites, and craigslist have free advertising. When you find one, put your advertisement on their website to get more traffic to your home business website. Well, free advertising is better than no advertising at all. Free advertising is a good way to start if you have a budget.

There are many advertising methods out there, even methods that you have not heard of before. Just play around with it a little longer, other methods will come to you sooner or later.

The Finer Points of Internet Auctions

WHAT IS A PENNY AUCTION?

Penny auctions have exploded in popularity with the massive growth of the internet. However, few people know the true origins of penny auctions.Beginnings actually stretch back to the Great Depression. Those were hard times for everyone, but even harder for farmers. Farmers struggled to bring in steady income because of droughts and crops not selling as well as they had previously. As a result, the banks would foreclose on the farmers who couldn’t keep up with their mortgage payments.

The banks weren’t satisfied with just repossessing the house, they wanted to raise as much capital as possible, so they resorted to selling off the possessions of the owners of the repossessed houses. There was not much the farmers could do about it so they began bidding ridiculously low prices, pennies, on the items while threatening others who dared to bid higher than a few pennies.

The auctions of today hardly resemble their tremulous beginnings. Being part of a penny auction today is exhilarating, fun, and addictive. It combines the selling format of auctioning with a little bit of chance factored in.Auctions are a game of strategy but also a game of luck.

The premise behind penny auctions is giving people the chance to win an item at a drastically reduced price.Auctions make that possible by spreading out the cost of the product among multiple bidders. In order for a person to take part in an auction, they must pay a set price for each bid. For example, if a person wanted to bid on a fifty dollar Amazon gift card then he would spend a dollar for each time a bid placed. If he ended up winning the gift card, then he would only have spent a few dollars for a fifty dollar gift card. Usually penny auctions sell bids in packages.

HOW PENNY AUCTIONS WORK!

The main foundation of penny auctions is the pay-per-bid format. It is the key that allows bidders to win items at the fraction of their retail value and allows the auction owners to keep their site profitable. Most y auction sites run on the same premise: people pay a set amount for each bid, whenever a person places a bid within the closing seconds of the auction time will be added, the last person left with a unique bid after the clocks runs out will win the item. There are a large variety of items that can be won, but they tend to be popular electronics or gift cards to popular stores.

There are two types of auctions: lowest unique bid auction and highest unique bid auction. Lowest unique auction sounds confusing but it is actually quite simple. A unique bid is when only one person has a bid at a certain price. Bids usually start at one penny, a bidder can then place a bid at two pennies. Until another bidder places a higher bid, the most recent bidder will be the lowest unique bid because that was the only bid at two cents and nobody bid higher. However, penny auctions generally don’t stop at one penny. It is not uncommon to find auctions that end up at a couple hundred dollars based on the popularity of the item being auctioned. However, the same principles apply for those auctions. Highest unique bid auctions follow the more traditional auction format such as eBay. The person with the highest bid at the end of the auction wins the item.

Auction site owners turn a profit by selling bids. Say twenty people are bidding on a ten dollar gift card at one dollar per bid, at the end of the auction if there were twenty bids placed in total then the site owner would have made twenty dollars with a ten dollar profit.Auctions do seem like a win-win situation:The site owner makes money while the bidder gets an item for dirt cheap. However, not everyone wins in penny auctions. The people who paid one dollar each bid but left with nothing to show for their investments will not be so happy.

HOW TO WIN!

Penny auction has a lot of chance mixed into it, but one can incorporate strategy that will help raise the chances of winning. Playing smart can make all the difference between gambling and auctioning.

The first crucial tip to winning penny auctions is to know how to manage your bids. Your goal should be to win as much as possible without spending a ton of money buying bids. Managing your bids means that you should already know how much you are willing to risk in order to win an item. The amount of capital you are willing to risk will determine how many bids you can use. Once you know how many bids you have to spend on an item, then you will be better able to manage how and when you place a bid. That will keep you from blowing away all of your bids in the first few seconds of the auction.

The next tip is to practice time management. When fighting in the trenches of penny auctions, you have two enemies: other bidders and time. Knowing when to bid is a must if you want to have success. Placing a bid when there is a lot of time left on the clock is never a good idea. You have to remember that the key to winning a penny auction is being the last one standing when the clock runs out and that each bid increases the amount of time left. It would be a good practice to wait until the last few minutes of the auction before you begin to bid.

The final tip for successful auctioning is to keep your emotions under control.Auctions have a lot of similarities to gambling, and just like gambling, your spending can get out of control. If you keep your emotions level, it will keep you from making rash decisions and blowing loads of cash. Keep your mind clear so that you can gage the behavior of the other bidders and outsmart them.

HOW TO AVOID SCAM SITES!

Penny auctions are a great addition to the web whether you want to win an item that otherwise you wouldn’t be able to afford or if you simply enjoy the thrill that comes with bidding in auctions. Unfortunately, scam sites have tarnished the reputation of the legitimate penny auction sites. However, there are ways that you can protect yourself from scamers and enjoy your auctioning without having to worry about losing your money due to dishonesty.

Checking the reputation of the auction site before you start spending your hard earned money is always a good idea. Chances are other people have tried the site before you and some of them have left reviews. The reviews are your way to gage whether a auction site is trustworthy or not. If a site is getting overwhelmingly negative reviews, then that is a clear indication that you should steer your business elsewhere.

Another tool you can use to protect yourself is checking the Alexia ranks of the auction sites. Alexia rank will give a solid view of how much traffic the auction is getting. If you see a huge difference in the amount of traffic Alexia is projecting and the amount of active bidders on the site, then warning signals should be ringing in your head. Some auction sites have been known to set up robots that automatically bid on projects in order to keep the auction going and inflate the price. That is known as shill bidding. You can sniff out those sites by comparing the traffic the site should be getting to the amount of users using this site.

CONCLUSION!

New legislation may come out later down the road that will officially make penny auctions gambling, but until then, it is a fun, exciting auction that allows one to win the item they’ve always wanted but couldn’t afford.Auctions are also quite lucrative for the site owners because of the pay-per-bid strategy they’ve incorporated. Penny auctions had humble beginnings with farmers who just wanted to get back at the banks who kicked them out of their house. More recently, auctions have enjoyed an explosion in popularity with the rise of the internet.

There are two main formats fora auctions, lowest and highest unique auction, however they both run on the same premise where the last unique bid wins the item. Winning a penny auction will require a certain amount of mental tactic and a bit of luck. However, you can increase your odds of winning by practicing certain techniques such as managing your bids wisely, learning how to work with the time, and keeping a level head and your emotions under control. When you combine those three strategies to your bidding plan, you will find that you win a lot more often.

It is important that you do your due diligence to protect yourself when participating in auctions. Not every auction is run by honest and trustworthy people. There are people out there who just want to take your money. You can protect yourself by ensuring that you only bid on sites that already have a very positive reputation from real users.
